Deleware and New Jersey encountered issues because of the slats ultimately being unevenly spaced, creating a lack of height on the left (nay) side of the tally board.
I solved this by chipping away at the groove with a mallet and chisel very gently. I followed up with a small file to smooth the track, and carefully tapped the slider back into order.
